Willhite, Virginia

   Virginia Willhite, daughter of the late Virgil Cottrell and Pearl (Sullivan) Cottrell, was born January 28, 1929 in Howes Mill, Missouri and she entered into rest on July 20, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 81 years, five months and 23 days. 
      On May 16, 1947 Virginia was united in marriage to Lowell Willhite and to their union two children were born.  Lowell preceded her in death on December 4, 2001. 
      Survivors include her children; Michael Willhite and wife, Kathy, of St. Louis, Missouri; and Brenda Lenderman of Paragound, Arkansas; one sister, Suzanne Lawson of Steelville, Missouri; grandchildren, Timothy Willhite and wife, Beth; Aaron Willhite; Adam Willhite; Roger Glenn Lenderman and wife, Natalie; Brooke Lenderman; Kevin Helldorfer and wife, Carrie; Jessica Helldorfer; great-grandchildren, Corinne Willhite; Claire Willhite; Lydia Helldorfer, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. 
      Preceding her in death were her parents, Virgil and Pearl Cottrell; her husband, Lowell; four brothers, Norman, Dorman and Donald Cottrell and an infant brother, Larry Cottrell. 
      Virginia was a long time member of the Viburnum Freewill Baptist Church, where, as long as her health permitted, was actively involved in church activities.  The greatest love of her life was her family, and spending time with them.  She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 
      Funeral service for Virginia Willhite will be Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 1:00 P.M., at the Freewill Baptist Church, Viburnum, Missouri; there will be a visitation at the church from 11:00 until time of service at 1:00.  There will also be a visitation for family and friends at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary on Friday, July 23, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M.  Interment will be in the Old Dillard Cemetery, Dillard, Missouri.
