 Carl W. Mayfield of Salem, Missouri was born April 29, 1921 in Paden, Oklahoma to the late Claude Jesse Mayfield and Daisy Pearl (Rogers) Mayfield, and entered into rest July 23, 2010 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 89.
      Carl was united in marriage to Clora Mayfield on December 3, 1943 and to that union two children were born.
      He was a member of Revival Tabernacle in Salem, Missouri.  He served his country during WWII. 
      Carl enjoyed animals, loved being outside, liked gardening and yard work, and above all loved being with his grandchildren. 
      He worked as a truck driver for thirty years before retiring.
      Survivors include his wife Clora Mayfield of Salem, MO; son Carl Dean Mayfield & wife Doris of Independence, MO; daughter Elizabeth Wagers & husband Rev. Ronald Wagers of Sullivan, MO; sisters Joylean Osborn, Hazel Finley & husband Harold and Loeta Urbina & husband Tony all of California; grandchildren Stacy Pendergrass & husband Joseph, Gretchen Mayfield, Matthew Mayfield, Kimberly Haffer & husband Randy, Tammy Wagers, and Troy Wagers & wife Staciea; great grandchildren Anna Pendergrass, Tori Haffer and Carl Wagers; along with several nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
      He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters in addition to his parents. 
      Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri.  Services for Carl W. Mayfield will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 10 AM at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri with Pastor Virgil McWhorter officiating.  Interment will be at Lake Spring Cemetery in Lake Spring, Missouri with Full Military Honors.
      Memorials are suggested to the Praise Temple Inc.  Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
      Arrangements are under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary of Rolla.
