Virginia May Dobbs (Rayfield) was born March 23, 1929, Black, Missouri. She passed this life August 10, 2014 at the age of 85.
She graduated from Lesterville High School in 1949 and married Bill Dobbs May 7th
1949. After attending Mineral Area College, she taught school and worked in banking until moving to Salem in 1959. In Salem she was involved in the management of their retail business. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Salem.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Bill. Her Son Dr. Tracy Dobbs and wife Debbie of Knoxville, Tennessee. Grand children, Mandy Baisley and husband Kyle, Knoxville, Tennessee; Angie Ogden and husband Tommy,Knoxville,Tennessee; Stephanie Boerjan and husband Bryan, Pensacola ,Florida; Great-grandchildren, Finley Ogden, Nolan Baisley and Lelia Boerjan. Nephews, Robert Rayfield, Robin Rayfield, Ken Rayfield and John Rayfield. Nieces Barbara,Patty Williams and Karen Martin. Sister-in-laws, Maxine Bowles, O’fallon, Illinois and Anita Rayfield, St. Louis, Missouri.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Maude (Mills) Rayfield. Brothers, Herman, Robert and Jack Rayfield. Father and mother-in-law, Ira and Rhoda Dobbs.
Visitation at James & Gahr funeral home Salem, Missouri Tuesday August 12th
from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral 11am Wednesday August 13th
at James & Gahr, with Phil Newcom officiating.
Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to First Baptist Church Salem or Three Rivers Hospice Licking.
