Michael Delmon Thompson, 66, of Raytown, MO, passed away on 11/2/13, as the result of a stroke, while in Hospice Care at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, MO.
Mr. Michael Thompson was born on October 14, 1947 in St. Louis, MO
Mr. Thompson was a Viet Nam Veteran, attaining the rank of Sergeant at the time of his honorable discharge. He worked most of his adult life as a chauffeur in California and Missouri, driving many famous movie stars, sports celebrities and singers, and all of Kansas City, MO’s local news and weather personalities at one time or another.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Rev. Lawrence Delmon Thompson and his older brother, Danny Lawrence Thompson.
Survivors include: His Mother, Ruth Harrison Thompson Atkinson, of Kansas City, MO, his sister, Pamela Thompson Painter and her husband, David Painter, of Kansas City, MO, nieces, Christy Thompson Alanis, of Phoenix, AZ, Angela Painter Williamson and her husband, Luke Williamson, of Kansas City, MO, nephews, Micah Painter and his wife Rebecca Stowers Painter, of Grand Rapids, MI, Marcus Painter and his wife Cara Poynter Painter, of Kansas City, MO, 6 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews. Michael loved his family very much and took a special delight in his great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be missed by all. Services for Michael Delmon Thompson will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:00 Am at the Salem freewill Baptist Church.
