August 23, 1936 - January 25, 2018
Barbara Ann (Brayshaw) Curtis passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the age of 81. Barbara was born on August 23, 1936 in Duquinn, Illinois to the late Kenneth and Sylvia (Kratty) Brayshaw. Barbara was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clyde Curtis on May 29, 1969. She worked as a registered nurse for many years with most of her time spent in pediatrics. Once her nursing career was over she went to work for McDonald Douglas as a secretary. She was a very talented musician who enjoyed playing many different musical instruments, including the piano and organ. She enjoyed researching genealogy and was very active in church, but her greatest joy was spending time with her husband traveling or just staying at home; their time together was special. Barbara was a loving wife, sister-in-law, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Barbara is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Clyde of the home; brother-in-law, Lewis (Dorlis) Curtis of Holt Summit, MO; sisters-in-law Nona Curtis of Newburg, MO and Edna Curtis of Ozark, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Elven Curtis, Vernon Curtis, Walter Curtis and Harold Curtis; sisters-in-law, Beulah Curtis and Lorene Curtis.
