Billy Joe Parker Sr. of Salem, Missouri passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at the SSM DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri at the age of 60. Billy was born in Salem, Missouri on February 6, 1960 to the late Bill and Kay (Reynolds) Parker. Billy lived his entire live in Salem. He took a job driving a truck over the road so he could see the country, and still always return home. He really enjoyed horses everyone knew him a cowboy, he always wore a black cowboy hat, and had his boots on. He also enjoyed collecting, and looking at guns. He was an avid hunter before his health no longer allowed. He was known as much of a man, he didn’t have a lot to say, but when he spoke people respected him. He wasn’t buddy buddy with everyone, but if you earned his respect, you were his friend. He was just a country boy who knew that nothing was given to you, and anything you wanted in life had to be earned. Billy was a hard worker who drove many miles to provide for his family. Most of all Billy Joe enjoyed spending time with family and friends, his children were his pride and joy. He will be lovingly missed by all that knew and loved him. Billy Joe Parker Sr. is survived by his son, Billy Joe Parker JR and wife Shlia, of Salem, MO, and Ashley Parker, of Springfield, MO; brother, Jim Parker, of Waynesville, MO; sister, Debbie Howell, of Salem, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. In addition to his parents Bill and Kay Parker, Billy was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny and Terry Parker. Funeral services for Billy Joe Parker SR will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Billy Miller officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, Missouri. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Chapel prior to the service on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 11AM until service time.
