John Canella Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John Michael Joseph Canella was born October 8, 1958 and passed away on July 22, 2021. John was born into a very loving family. He was the son of Dr. John Canella and Jacqueline L. Canella. Awaiting his arrival were his two brothers and two sisters; Michale G. Canella, James J. Canella, Geriann C. Ball, and Mary Lou Rentz. John was born in Hannibal, Missouri. He attended Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, Missouri before moving to Anchorage, Alaska where he graduated High School. John then attended Drury University in Springfield, Missour; graduating with a degree in Crimnal Justice. After college he served as a second lietenant in the United States Army for two years. After being discharged from the Army he made his home in Alaska. He worked on the slopes and enjoyed the beauty and wildlife surrounding him. John finally ended up in Springfield, Missouri where his daughter Michaela R. Canella was born. He worked for Missouri State University as a security guard until his retirement. John's favorie past time was fishing and he was rather good at it. During the last years of life John fought many battles with his health only to work hard to win his fight with Leukemia. He was in remission when he passed from Covid 19. John left behind his daughter, Michaleal R. Canella; granddaughter, Nova Louise Wilson; brothers, sisters, and many friends.
