Kermit "Larry" Garner

Kermit "Larry" Garner of St. James, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 92. Kermit was born in Advance, Missouri on March 27, 1927 to the late John L. and Odena Garner. Kermit proudly served his Country in the United State Air Force, where he was an Aircraft Mechanic. After he returned home he met the love of his life, Miss Martha Bullock they were married on April 19, 1947, this union was blessed with a son. Kermit worked as an electrician, and was a member of the Electricians Union. After he retired, he and Martha traveled some, often making Las Vegas or Arizona home for the winter. He loved the rivers and lakes, spending a lot of time every summer on the Lake of The Ozarks, fishing and running trot lines on the weekends. They enjoyed boating, water sking, and spending the weekends in a cabin. Kermit attended the St James Christian Church for the past several years. Kermit is survived by his son, David Garner, of St. James, MO; granddaughter, Kelli Hall, of St. James, MO; great-grand-children, Cody Kuykendall, Robert Hall, and Melissa Stubbs; great-great-grandchildren, Gabe Stubbs, and Grayson Jones; a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, John and Odena Garner, Kermit is proceeded in death by his wife Martha in 2015. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 1:00PM at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Doug Parks officiating. Internment will be at the St. James Cemetery with the Military folding and presenting the flag. Visitation will be held at the Chapel prior to the service from 11-1PM.
