William Paul Scheider III

William Paul Scheider III of St. James, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at his home in St. James at the age of 61. William was born on Decemebr 31, 1958 to the late William Paul Jr. and Betty Jane (Mahon) Scheider. At the age of fifteen William went to work for Glenn Dressendofer on his farm in Vichy, Missouri, he worked for him on and off up until last year when his health would no longer allow' he loved working on the farm, working the cattle, hogs, driving the tractor, what ever he could do, he did. He went to work for the City of St. James in the Sanitation Department, before settling in the Street Department where he would spend the next 19 years. Every year he would ride in the Leroy Tipton Tractor Ride, proudly showing up in a John Deere. Tragedy struck in 1995 as his daughter Anita Wisdom was killed in an automobile accident, and again in 2009 when his son Robert Scheider was struck by a car killing him. William took everything in stride and pushed through, he was know to be a jokester with an big sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting and trout fishing. He was a people person who never met a stranger, most importantly he loved and adored his family, he would give a stranger the shirt off his back, and was a cherished friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. William Paul Scheider III is survived by his son, William Scheider IV; grandson, Nichols Scheider; sisters, Mary Ann Scheider, of St. Louis, MO, Brenda Riley and husband Dale, of Rolla, MO, Barbara Zink and husband Michael, of Midland, MI, Marie Lundry, of Hot Springs, AR, and Carol Harris, of FL; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. William was preceded in death by his parents, William Jr. and Betty Jane Scheider; children, Anita Wisdom, and Robert Scheider; brother, Bernard Scheider. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor David Scudder officiating. Masks are strongly suggested. Interment with full military honors will be at the Adams Cemetery. Memorials are suggested and greatly appreciated to the Adams Cemetery, cards are available at all James & Gahr locations. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Chapel from 5-7PM.
