Grace Elizabeth Gorman

If you weren’t lucky enough to know our sweet Grace very well, hopefully this can give a glimpse of the wonderfully beautiful person she was. There aren’t enough words or even the right words to fully describe how special she was to us all. What can I say about my most lovely Grace? She was the most wonderful surprise as we thought she was going to be a boy but the ultrasound was not clear. I believe Grandpa Dan was the most excited because he loves surprises. She felt everything with big feelings. She loved all of her family dearly. She was her little sister’s protector and one of her brother’s biggest supporters. She was one of my best friends and definitely had dad wrapped around her finger. It didn’t stop there, she loved spending time with all of her family. Most weekends and summers at Grandma Karolyn’s, sometimes butting heads with Grandpa Dan (stubbornness a common trait they shared) and adoring her time with Grandma. Grace, André, Megan, and Isaac were a group that could talk Grandma into just about anything, Grace often being the negotiator. She loved her adventures at Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sue’s with all of her cousins and her Grandma Donna took the best care of her when she moved to “Kentucky Fried Chicken”. She spent many many days playing with Sommer and Joshua before she moved back to Missouri. She always loved her time with Malia, she would tell me she felt understood and never judged by her. She had a solid friend circle. Grace, Megan, Hayden, Bridget, Emma, and Michael all set out for adventures and completing a bucket list. Luckily their friends are organized and make a good plan because Hayden and Emma save the day! Heck the whole camping weekend sometimes. There are so many more friends and family that Grace touched with her kind soul and great sense of humor. Over the last few years Grace had grown to love Michael dearly. He was lost in this tragic accident as well. I was happy that they had found such happiness loving each other and she had found her person. Keeleigh her niece will truly miss her as well as Michael. They were two of her favorite people. Her, Grace and Michael were lucky to have some great afternoon dates over the last year. Life has flown the last 19 years from that full moon in December 2003 with an overflowing labor and delivery at St. John’s in Springfield. Too fast, especially now. Grace loved all living things. Animals, plants, most people😉. She would always take time to stop and smell the roses or whatever lovely scent may be wafting about, stop and look at interesting plants and often identify them from her lessons in Ag and FFA. This last year she really developed her love and interest for growing her own plants and bonsai trees. A beautiful sunset was always adored by her. She loved her kitties even with a cat allergy she would just suffer for the kitty cuddles. She was an advocate of the less fortunate and didn’t want to see anyone hurt. We couldn’t keep enough lunch account money because she was always buying extras for kids that didn’t have enough to eat. She might have had a quick temper but she was even quicker to want reconciliation. She liked to argue but always made sure everything ended in peace. She was my Grace. She was our sunshine. She called me all the time and talked about nothing and everything. She was deep and thoughtful but we could have the most goofy whimsical conversations. I loved when I would hear her applying my advice in her life whenever she would refuse it when first given. She was a smart independent thinker that had an open thoughtful mind that was willing to listen to all sides. She was just a beautiful person inside and out and our lives will forever be changed from her presence and her departure. I don’t know how it will be going forward but it will just have to be a little bit dimmer in the world without her beautiful ray of light. Our hearts a little lonelier and our eyes with more tears than ever. We will take each day and love each other a little harder because we will all need it with our dear Grace gone. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things my Grace brought to this world. My heart will forever have a slight heaviness for all the life we missed out on but is still so much bigger because of her place in it. We have decided on cremation for our dear Grace and will be having a Celebration of Life in the near future. We appreciate everyone that has reached out, prayed, provided food, offered everything up to and including washing the dishes, has been thinking of us, and just everyone that was a part of our beautiful Grace’s life. She was very loved and so filled with love as well. She was a believer so heaven was ready for her. I’m not sure how we will get by missing her so but there’s nothing else we can do but take comfort that she’s in a better place than the rest of us. Thank you everyone we are truly grateful for everyone’s love and support. Please continue to keep us all in your thoughts and/or prayers. We love all of you. Grace Elizabeth Gorman was born December 06, 2003 in Springfield, Mo to Chad and Karmen Gorman. She graduated from Rolla Sr High in 2022. She is survived by her parents Chad and Karmen Gorman her brother Keenan and sister Megan Gorman of Rolla, Mo, sister Hailey Peel and husband Spencer of Slater Mo, grandparents Dan and Karolyn Adams and Steve and Sue Gorman all of Salem Mo, and Donna and Jim English of Plato Mo, niece Keeleigh Gorman, Uncle Spencer Adams, aunt Crystal Adams, Uncle Greg Gorman and wife aunt Julie, Aunt Kristina Kay, and Aunt Cary Steelman and husband Aaron. Cousins Ashley, Adam, Trey, Courtney, Sommer, Joshua, Malia, Reid, Alexis, André, Olivia, Isabella, and Isaac. As well as numerous great aunts and uncles and distant cousins just too many to name. She was preceded in death by all of her great grandparents, Uncle Chris Terrill, and her loving boyfriend Michael Sutton. Please join us in the celebration of our beautiful daughter Grace Elizabeth Gorman on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 11:00AM until 3:00PM at the Lion’s Club Park, pavilion #7, Rolla, Missouri. We invite anyone and everyone. Grace was full of life and love and would love a celebration for all! If you knew Grace bring a memory to share or just stop by to say hello. If you didn’t know Grace we would love a word of encouragement and just your presence to celebrate her beautiful soul with us. There is no official service and we encourage everyone to stay all day and celebrate her short but love filled life or just stop by for a minute if that’s all time will allow. We just want as many as can to have the opportunity to honor our sweet girl. Meal will be provided to any and all.
